Colchester United boss Geriant Williams has told the club`s official website of his relief at securing a first win a home this season on the back of Wednesday`s 4-2 win over Queen`s Park Rangers.
“We needed to get that monkey off our back and get the three points,” said the Welshman, speaking on the interactive U`s World service.
He continued: “Their front three – Hogan (Ephraim), (Rowan) Viney and (Dexter) Blackstock were very mobile and sharp.”
When asked what was going through his mind when Rowan Vine scored what turned out to be an irreverent, although well-finished strike leaving the game potentially in the balance, Williams added: “Nothing I can repeat on camera!”
“We`ve had a conversation. We`ve got to learn our lessons and learn to kill the game off,” he concluded. “It gives the players a boost to see us higher in the table.”

Yeah well we’ve got “that monkey off our back” so some more home wins please!
Yeah, home is where the heart is and where the starting point for any good run of form should begin!
Yeah I go to home games, but only a few away, so the heart is definatly at home!
