Colchester United have crashed out of the Carling Cup First Round in a slightly lacklustre 2-1 defeat to Leyton Orient.
Geraint Williams returned to his old club with a compact side and duly stole victory, first with a surprisingly early goal from an Adrian Patulea header.
JJ Melligan doubled the O`s lead in the second half and not even a late Simon Hackney free-kick, following a controversial red card for misconduct by Clive Platt, was enough to prevent Colchester`s elimination at the first hurdle of this year`s competition.
Vital`s full match report and player ratings will follow tomorrow.
