Midfielder King left Colchester to join Ryman Premier Division side Heybridge Swifts the club that he was on loan to last season.
Cheif Executive Marie Partner speaking to the official website said ‘It was agreed that Robbie could pursue his career elsewhere,’
‘Over the weekend, he agreed to sign for Heybridge and everything was concluded today (Monday).’
King, 20, who was born down the A12 in Chelmsford had captained Colchester’s youth team after coming up through the Layer Road youth ranks.
However, he made just five first-team appearances and was loaned out to Hereford, Staines and Heybridge.
