Well after today, frankly, nothing!
At least nothing new – Colchester officially begun shortlisting over the past 24-hours and probably been busy returning calls to the 30-plus people interested in the job.
Fans however remain much in the dark, baring ballpark guesswork which has so far seen Steve Coppell, Martin Allen, and a few others, linked. Both very different characters indeed!
For those who have been religiously following this site`s frantic updates, there`s one scrap of fresh comment from current caretaker, Joe Dunne.
He thinks losing to MK Dons on Saturday might have hastened Robbie Cowling`s desire to push the ejector button on the hot-seat he is currently keeping warm.
They`re basically a repeat of yesterday`s quotes on Vital, sourced from the same post-weekend press conference but via BBC Essex Radio.
Dunne told today`s Daily Gazette: “We must stay calm, even though it is not a hill that we have to climb, it is a mountain. We need to look at our squad size as we have gone from players being comfortably outside the squad to probably needing to get one or two in.
“We can manage but the whole package for the new manager is that whoever comes in will have to have some players lined up as this squad needs adding to.”
Stop yawning! Ok, I know it`s getting late… today`s race to replace is just recycled comment because it has turned from sprit to marathon.
