Conference side Weymouth yesterday signed hometown boy Kyle Critchell, a 20-year-old Welsh youth international, after he reportedly rejected an offer from Colchester United.
The BBC confirmed that the midfielder, who announced the deal at the same time as the club closed their new takeover, also snubbed Dagenham & Redbridge, Torquay, Shrewsbury.
The former Southampton youngster was a part of the side that won an Academy Premiership title in 2006 and also had loan spells with Chesterfield and Torquay United.

This is the first season in a long time where the club’s board of directors have not had to dip into thier poeckets to help the club break even. Although fans are slightly concerned, we think Williams is the right man for sure and he is spending (or not!) money like it’s his own.
To add: the sqaud now is far smaller even that when the team were promoted. So I’m not sure exactly, but most of the XI have had pay hikes…
