Colchester United’s Essex Senior Cup final with AFC Hornchurch was called just a quarter-of-an-hour before kick off.
Victoria Road, home of Dagenham & Redbridge, where the tie was to be played had taken a battering from heavy rain throughout the past 24 hours. John Hopkins, referee for the match, deemed the pitch unplayable.
The local cup final will now be set for a new date, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
