Colchester were twice pegged back by Gillingham on Saturday, although the manor of the late, late second equaliser in injury-time might prove to be the final curtain in our bid to stay in League 1?

Having lost the lead in the final 10-minutes a goal with just three-minutes to play looked like it had given us all three-points at the Priestfield Stadium but, and having lost a man just before this to a sending off, in the sixth-minute of injury-time Gillingham made it two-two.

After a goalless first half the lead went our way when Moncur (62) scored just past the hour mark, and that is how it stayed until late on when Ehmer (82) equalised.

Porter (87) looked as though he had headed us a winner three-minutes from time from Briggs’ cross but then Millwall loanee Briggs was sent off when he collected his second yellow card, which added even more time to the injury-time played….

Gillingham made the most of this with Loft (90+6) smashing home from distance to deny us the desperately needed three-points we seemed on for!

Ahead of the game Tony Humes said that points ‘weren’t enough’, not only is this point not enough the manor in which we equalised will make it feel like a defeat and you worry this could be a terminal blow for us?

Without doubt we’ve got to win our next game, but do you think we will? Vote to your right.
