Jordan and Taylor urge Palace

Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor has vowed to filed a full-strength side for Sunday`s clash in Essex against Colchester United, after last weekend`s strong line-up trounced Derby County.

Taylor, who had planned to field a host of youngsters against the U`s, has decided the result could still have a baring on the final play-off positions; Colchester would need a mass of goals, and favours from QRP (against Stoke) and relegated rivals Sourhend (against Southend.

The Eagles manager said this week: “Colchester can still make the play-offs, so that has changed my mind a little bit, and I am being fair to all the clubs on that one.

“If the clubs above Colchester all lose, and Colchester beat us, they can reach the play-offs on goal difference, so I don’t think there will be too many changes from the team which played Derby last Sunday.

“We finished that game very strongly, and we would like to finish the season well.”

Meanwhile, their chairman Simon Jordan has urged Taylor to play the loan market next season, like Stoke have to great success this season.

Jordan said: “The budget is based on what we sell, but it is up to Peter as an ex-England Under-21 coach to get his little black book out and start getting people in on loan. We are the only club in England who don’t seem to have loan players.”

Jordan added: “The dust hasn’t settled on this season yet, but a lot will be determined by players` contracts.” Palace have six team-members whose deals expire in the summer.
