Dean Gerken has cited Colchester’s new assistant Kit Symons as ‘having already made an impact’ on Colchester’s back four since joining from Crystal Palace and taking over from Micky Adams who left in January.
Gerken told the Colchester Gazette: “Kit’s been brilliant for us.
“Since he’s come in, I really think we’re looking more solid as a back five.
“He’s had a tremendous career as a centre-half – you only have to look at his career and realise that whatever he says, it will be a pearl of wisdom.
“We take in everything he says and absorb it and he’s been fantastic for us.’
