Geraint Williams left his post as U’s manager on Monday morning following a poor start to the season. The Welshmen departed by ‘mutual consent’ after just over two years in charge.

Billy Davies, Phil Parkinson and Ian Holloway appear to be leading a three man race to become the new U’s boss.
The trio have been hotly-tipped in a selection of national newspapers to succeed Williams at the helm.

Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson, Leyton Orient’s Martin Ling and highly-rated Bristol Rover’s boss Paul Trollope have also been mentioned as possible replacements.
