World renowned names, successful Premier League managers, proven League One bosses, ex-players who are looking into management – pretty tasty, huh?
Well, if Steve Bradshaw, Colchester United’s chief executive, is to be believed than these are the sort of people in the frame to be the U’s next manager.
Over 30 mangers have applied for the vacant hotseat at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, with the U’s hierarchy having the tough job of narrowing it down to a selection of five. Rather them than me!
‘We have everything from world names, people recognised across the world, with managers who have been successful in the Premiership, to managers who have had success in the division we are in and younger ex-players who are new to a coaching capacity,’ Bradshaw enthused.
And Bradshaw concluded that the final call will be down to U’s chairmen Robbie Cowling, adding: ‘It will have to be someone who can give the club the profile we are all comfortable with, but ultimately it will be the chairman`s decision.’
So what do you think?

VITAL COLCHESTER; YOUR VOICE, YOUR CHOICE!
VITAL COLCHESTER IS 100% UNOFFICIAL – FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS!
I can’t wait to find out. Aidy, Coppell or Dunn? I know we shouldn’t speculate but wot u think lads?
Well – he seems to be building it up a lot! Coppell or Aidy for me. Up the U’s!
I agree with Steve. Although I wouldn’t mind Stuart Pearce or maybe Joe Dunne. Also would be keen to see who the unprovens are, because I’m nosey!
What about Big Ron? lol
Its Curbs for me
You know, up_the_u’s_aaron, I was thinking exactly the same, as a mock answer! Big Ron will be unemployed, have top-flight exprience and a “world-renowned” reputaion… for the wrong reasons!!
I say either Steve Coppell or maybe Alan Curbishley other than that stay with Joe Dunne.
Big Ron? lol!! wouldnt that be interesting
Curbishley is another option. Welcome to the site, colu_chip
