U’s + Lambert Continue Striker Search

Colchester United are continuing their extensive search for another striker, with boss Paul Lambert looking for an experienced finisher.

So far the U’s have bolstered their attacking options by signing relatively unproven young Hamilton Accies forward Joel Thomas, but an older goal-getter still tops Lambert’s wish-list.

Numerous players, from up and down the country, have been linked with the Weston Homes Community Stadium so far this summer. However, deals for any perspective striker have not come to fruition.

Lambert, a former Celtic great, told The Daily Gazette: : ‘We need someone with some experience. Joel Thomas is a young player who will develop.

‘We will see what is available but you need a bit of luck to get players in.’

The latest name to be linked is ex-U’s man Kevin Lisbie, now at Ipswich Town, click here.

And Lambert, who refused to rule anything out, acknowledged the speculation.

He added: ‘I think it`s because he used to play for Colchester United – I think that`s what people are saying.’

So who do YOU think the U’s should turn their attention to?
