Ipswich Town have confirmed they have accepted a bid from an unnamed club for a striker, believed to be, Kevin Lisbie – could that club be the U’s?

Colchester United boss Paul Lambert is continuing his search for more attacking firepower and could be interested in the former U’s man.

Lisbie left for Portman Road 12-months ago but didn’t have the best of seasons. Plus new manager Roy Keane in angered that the 28-year-old has refused to uproot his family and move them closer to the training ground.

And now Lambert, after being frustrated in his hunt for strikers so far, could well capitalise and bring Lisbie back down the A12.

Despite signing Hamilton Academical’s French striker Joel Thomas earlier this week, Lambert still wants another forward on his roster. Thomas’s fellow striking-teammate Richard Offiong was widely expected to move South too but never showed up for his medical.

Stranger things have happened… I just hope that Delia’s boys dont get Grant Holt- BBC reports they’re close to it- i reckon a slightly larger bid anytime now will secure him- a decent player and a chance to practice beating the canaries- cant be bad!!!

Think we should go back in for him definatly, proven scorer. Lisbie would be good…
