Let`s, as Delia Smith would say, be having you! Norwich City have hidden for long enough, avioding recompensing Colchester for Paul Lambert`s services. Now the F.A. will step in.

In a recent announcement, United said they would use the Football Association to help prosecute for misconduct concerning the Scotsman`s controversial departure at the start of the season.

It seems City still refuse to put money where their mouth is and pay fair compensation for Lambert`s services, procured shortly after he co-ordinated an outstanding 7-1 win against his new employers.

Although debacle over appropriate recompense splits both sets of fans, United Chairman and owner, Robbie Cowling, has long maintained a bullish stance. He has repeatedly pushed for compensation and also suggested City should suffer points docked.

So this news comes as little surprise.

He told BBC Radio Essex: “Since the incident happened earlier in the season, we`ve tried everything we can to sort the matter by talking to Norwich and trying to find something that we could all agree to.

We haven`t been able to. This is the inevitable procedure that we have to go down.”

Colchester reported Norwich nine days, ago after talks between the East Anglian rivals over a settlement finally broke down. The complaint concerned not only Lambert, but also his asides, Ian Culverhouse and Gary Karsa.

Norwich City, who appointed Lambert directly after short talks, but without Colchester United`s permission back in August, have yet to deny guilt regarding the improper conduct.

A Football Disciplinary Commission will have to hear the U`s case before finally resolving the matter.

Since this story broke, ex-Colchester boss Mike Walker has expressed his support for the club`s course of action. All supports can do is watch and wait.
