Five Championship clubs, Colchester, Bristol, Leicester, Stoke & Ipswich, are all said to be mulling over a move for Irish striking sensation Dave Mooney.
The 23-year-old has 19 goals to his name already this term, and has been playing in the Irish Premier Division with Longford Town.
The marksman stole some headlines last weekend when he netted a hat-trick, but it remains to be seen if the speculation surrounding his future is just that.
It has come out via the Irish media that Ipswich joined the race on Wednesday when they send a scout to Dublin to watch the player in action for the Irish under-23 side. A U`s scout was also present, according to reports.

He must be quite a player for that many clubs to be after him.
Dave played in the Premier Division with Longford Town, not the second division. It’s the same league that Kevin Doyle (Reading) came from. Longford were relegated to the second division last week. Top striker, with a great eye for goal.
…which is why I got the info wrong! Thanks for that. Just going by what it said on the BBC website!
Coh the BBC!!! Yeah we’re hoping he’s another Kevin Doyle, but only if he joins us and not Town!
