Colchester United legend Kevin Watson has revealed his ambition to manage the U’s in the future but is committed to the task with Luton Town at present.
The former U’s midfield stalwart is currently on the coaching staff at Kenilworth Road, working under ex-U’s assistant Mick Harford. His current involvements have restricted him from going for Community Stadium hot seat this time. Shame.
Speaking to the EADT, he revealed: ‘I would like to do the job one day.
‘But I haven’t sent in my CV for the Colchester job. I am learning as a coach at Luton, and I wouldn’t go behind the back of Mick Harford and apply for another job without telling him.
However, he does seem keen to apply for the U’s post at some stage and will be warmly welcomed by fans, who worshiped him during his four-year spell in North Essex.
So what do you think?

VITAL COLCHESTER IS 100% UNOFFICIAL – FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS!
He’s exactly right, in my book. Maybe one day, Kev!
“worshiped” him…? Well, I don’t know! He was well-liked as far as I can recall… injured towards the end but had great passion and made that ammusing comment about Coronation Street!
Well I certainly did. True great. King Kev Watson.
I don’t ever recall anyone connected to the club or fans have a bad word to say about him.
That is true, most liked Watson and I thought he was a good little player.
