Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has revealed forward Jamie Guy is still part of his plans.

Guy had been linked with a £100,000 move to League One side’s Crewe Alexandra and Leyton Orient, but the U’s are yet to receive a formal offer for the powerful front-man.

Williams told The Colchester Gazette: ‘I would like Jamie to stay and he’s in my plans for next season.

‘There are a lot of things a young man has to weigh up when considering his future.’

However, Williams admitted that Guy feels a move away may be best for him: ‘He has said to me that he feels he may need to move on but I disagree with that.

‘If a club was to come in with an offer that was acceptable – and Jamie wanted to go – then we would have to consider it.

‘That has always been our policy.’

So will Guy be a U’s player next season? We want to know YOUR thoughts?

  • Yeah me too, in League One think he will be ok: A good threat off the bench, if hits form will probably start a few games, but the thing is does he want to stay????? up the U’s!

  • £100k is good money for him. I think he is destined for another season of coming off the bench. Never going to be higher in the pecking order than Lisbie, Vernon or Platt.

  • Yeah if he stays, think he’ll have to settle for a ten minute spell off the bench at the end of games.
