Carolan departs Norwich city after ten years at Carrow Road.

He told CU-FC.com: ‘I had a great time at Norwich City, working with elite players and that allowed me to blossom as a sports scientist and fitness coach.

‘I had ten seasons there and it was a really good experience, working alongside some very good managers along the way.’

Carolan, who has also had stints with Surrey Cricket Club and London Irish, revealed ex-U’s striker Jamie Cureton had good things to say about the club.

‘It was a good family club with a good community feel and Jamie described Colchester in exactly the same way, which made me feel this was the right move for me,’ he added.

Vital Colchester would like to welcome David aboard and wish him luck for his time with the U’s.
