Colchester’s bid to stay in League 1 went from one that looked doomed to failure to being on the brink of a win to leave us within touching distance of this on Saturday afternoon…. In the end a draw doesn’t really help us!

An injury-time equaliser from Scunthorpe saw us come from behind to lead only to end up drawing two-two in the end at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Scunthorpe went into the half time break one-nil up when Robinson’s (30) finished into the top corner on the half hour.

We turned the game on it’s head in the final 10-minutes when Eastman (81) bagged an equaliser when Scunthorpe didn’t clear the danger and with five-minutes left Porter (85) saw the lead taken.

With victory within sight Scunthorpe sub Adelakun (90+2) denied us a first win in three-matches when he made it two-two.

Failure to win leaves us four-points from safety with survival looking increasingly unlikely with only a few matches to play and they come against sides after promotion mostly….

Can we still stay up? If we’re going to have a chance we’ve got to beat Fleetwood next time round.

But will we do this?
