David Prutton`s next club could be Brighton after chi Robbie Cowling declared all contract offers suspended following Aidy Boothroyd`s Coventry denature.

The former Leeds United and Southampton midfielder was a mainstay in the U`s side under Boothroyd but has since attracted the attention of Albion`s Gus Poyet and could leave Essex when his short-term deal expires.

Cowling said the terms offered to Prutton and defender Phil Ifill were “on ice” with the managerial post currently a situation vacant at for the second time inside a year at Weston Homes Community Stadium.

He is a player I like a lot and, depending on what is happening with the midfielders, we will see,” commented Poyet recently.

Prutton has scored three times in 28 matches for the U’s.
