Colchester United`s chairman and owner Robbie Cowling has recently invested an extra £1.5 in the Essex club, according to the BBC.
Cowling, whose U`s tenure is just over a year old, is seen to have responded indirectly to the wishes of fans who thought investment over the long-term would ensure their survival in the Championship.
The investment, part of the original takeover deal according to reports, coincides with the fast-growing development of the club`s new stadium, just eight months away from completion.
