Colchester United chairman and owner Robbie Cowling is pushing for disclosure of the compensation figure from Paul Lambert`s Norwich departure.

That`s in contrast to the approach he has taken over a similar circumstance involving Aidy Boothroyd, whose altogether more amicable Coventry departure ended with the payment staying private.

The club are some way through their search for a successor, as they look to land a third manager inside eighteen months, but still await full details of a tribunal decision in Lambert`s case.

Cowling told the BBC: “At the moment we don’t have permission to disclose what the decision is. However, Colchester United want it to be made public.”

Lambert lasted just 312 days at the Weston Homes stadium, linked in his time at the club to jobs with Motherwell and Celtic among others.

Boothroyd, who could be replaced according to gossip by former Ipswich and QPR manager, Jim Magilton or ex-MK Dons man Paul Ince, stayed for an even shorter nine-month period.
