Jamie Guy`s possible loan move to Crew looks to be off, even though Colchester have signed Izale McLeod.
Guy is behind five other men in the pecking order at Layer Road and has been restricted to limited first-team action due to injury and a lack of chances in the first XI this season.
Although the youth product had been expected to join Crewe Alexandra for the rest of the season, it has been revealed that Guy is unwilling to leave North Essex now due to personal circumstances.
The Railwaymen`s manager, Steve Holland, said: “We have declared an interest in Jamie Guy at Colchester, but that one is complicated for various reasons.
“He has picked up an injury and his partner is expecting a baby. That one does look unlikely, but we think he would have fitted the bill.”
Howard admitted that the club have been struggling up front since the loss of marksman Luke Varney in the summer, and stated that the club were still looking to fill the void.
While Guy had been limited to many cameo roles last season, this term with Clive Platt, Kevin Lisbie, Teddy Sheringham and Scott Vernon all ahead of him in the selection order, he has not often been on the teamsheet.

Well, adds flair if he plays!
Pace as well and a bit of hinger. Think he should have gone on loan!
well Teddy is injured at the mo, when Izale goes back he could be vital.
