Goal-shy attacker Ian Henderson has been training with Colchester United, as the U’s look to find a replacement for departed loanee Kevin Lisbie.
Henderson – who started his footballing career with the U’s rivals Norwich City – also joined Aidy Boothroyd’s side in making the long trip to Preston North End this afternoon. However, the 24-year-old could only warm-up with the rest of the squad at Deepdale – but a move for Henderson seems likely.
The news comes after the confirmed exit of forward Lisbie – back to parent club Ipswich Town – with any potential permenant move looking unlikely.
Henderson, who can operate up front or on the right wing, has returned to England following an unsuccessful short-term spell with Turkish side Ankaragucu.
So what do you think?

VITAL COLCHESTER; YOUR VOICE, YOUR CHOICE!
VITAL COLCHESTER IS 100% UNOFFICIAL – FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS!
He had the number sixteen shirt on. Maybe Aidy can get something out of him! Nice to see Colchester using a scout network… he’s fairly young!
What on earth was he doing with Ankaragücü? They’re quite broke though! Darius Vassell’s still there isn’t he?
Yeah, think he’s lookin for a move back to England just like Henderson.
Blimey if Henderson is to replace Lisbie then that’s bad news for you lot. Should probably be a decent squad player though.
Well nothings certain yet. Lisbie could still sign, Henderson may not, we may sign another forward – who knows? His scoring record is very poor.
Why are we wasting our time on this unproven, out of form joker???
