AN UPBEAT Colchester United side entertained Huddersfield this afternoon, playing at home again after a record thirty-eight year high crowd turned out to watch the U`s thump Charlton on Wednesday.

United gave Phil Parkinson`s high-flying Addicts a stern lesson and will be looking to repeat the feat as an unbeaten run under new boss Aidy Boothroyd sees optimism continue growing with abandon.

Vital Quotes:

Clark:- U`s Enjoy Aidy`s Way

The Huddersfield boss told Radio Leeds: “They [Colchester] are in very good form. Aidy Boothroyd has got them playing a certain way and they’re getting results and doing very well.”

Boothroyd:- We Want A Winning Machine!

The Colchester boss told the EADT:”The big thing for me is consistency and since I have been here sometimes the defending has been great and sometimes it has been a bit milky.

We are nowhere near being a winning machine yet. I think we are 60 to 70 per cent along, so there’s still a way to go yet
.”

Colchester U Team News:

Duo Pat Baldwin (leg) and Ashley Vincent (ankle) are both still out although now nearing fitness and the latter may be risked pending a late fitness test.

Also out are Paul Reid (ankle) and Lee Beevers (shoulder) although the injury-prone Steven Gillespie is now fit and ready for selection after a recent first-team cameo.

The side will probably remain unchanged from that which felled Charlton in midweek.

Player to watch: Kayode Odejayi

The loanee has great pace for a big striker and has already scored twice, including an almost seemingly improbable second strike against Charlton.

Chases lost causes and won two penalties on his debut.

Could become invaluable to United this season if they are to sustain promotion-winning form.

Huddersfield Town Team News:

There will be changes for the Terriers, searching for a first win in five games.

While Lee Clark has no new injury worries, the Terriers boss may want to shake up his starting XI.

Tom Clarke (ligaments) is the only definite absentee.

Player to watch: Theo Robinson / Jordan Rhodes

The Terries have prolific strikers; with Colchester`s Kevin Lisbie having bagged six strikes so far, Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson have netted sixteen goals in as many combined starts this season.

We can watch them, but let`s hope the U`s defend without ball-watching these two!

Really, think we need a win, here, like with all home games. Should be good, both teams like scoring. Up the U’s!

Allo everyone MattU`s i agree with you. Colchester will win but i think it will be 2.0. We dont want to be conceding any goals. Am i right in thinking that our defense is questionable( god forgive me for saying such a thing)?

  • sonicsmegg says:
