PAUL LAMBERT labeled Monday’s lacklustre defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion as his ‘most disappointing day’ since taking over at Colchester United.

Lloyd Owusu’s sole strike condemned the U’s to their eleventh League One home defeat of the season, as their poor form continues. To read Vital Colchester’s match report, click here.

The U’s struggling form at the Weston Homes Community Stadium has cost them a play-off place, with their away form one of the best in the league.

And the defeat to The Seagulls was the worst performance and result so far at the U’s new stadium and since Lambert arrived.

‘It`s my most disappointing day so far as Colchester United manager,’ he admitted, post-match.

‘We were shocking and it wasn`t acceptable.

‘There is certainly no way that I will put up with that again.

‘Some players will go from this football club and I will get more in that will give it a go for us,’
he confirmed, with big changes expected in the close season.

‘Some of the lads are probably not good enough to play at the standard I want at this football club.

‘I totally understand where the fans are coming from.

‘My job was to try and keep this team in the league and the loan players have done really well for us but we will try and bring ones in that will make it better.’

Lambert, 39, concluded: ‘I have given the players a chance and I have got the answer.’

So do you agree with Lambert?
