COLCHESTER UNITED boss Paul Lambert is expecting a number of changes in personnel at the Weston Homes Community Stadium during the close season.

The ex-Wycombe Wanderers chief confirmed that he will allow a handful of fringe players to leave over the coming months, also revealing he wont be shy to add to his current set players.

Despite not giving up on the U’s late play-off charge, Lambert admitted he is planning for next season.

Lambert said: ‘We have to try to change things, so some of the lads will be leaving.’

Lambert, a former Celtic skipper, commented on his ambition to bring Championship football to North Essex once again.

‘A lot of the lads are under scrutiny. I haven’t come here to just sit in mid-table; my ambition is the get the club out of this league.

‘I have a good idea of what I want to do. Once I know what will be happening next season, in terms of what division we will be in, then I’ll be letting people know. Players leaving, that will come,’ he added.

So would you like to see a large number of changes at the WHCS? Or are only a few needed?

Fringe players? – Wasiu, Vernon, Heath, Guy and maybe you could add White and Jackson to that, although I hope not as I like both

Can see them four going but dont wanna see White or Jackson go, I’d have White ahead of Maybury at RB.
