‘The standard of football in Qatar is good. It’s not as though I am taking a step back in my career. I wouldn`t have come here if I thought that. I am 28 this year, so I am at my peak. I am enjoying my football and I am playing with a smile on my face.
‘I want to spend a couple of years out in Qatar. After that, who knows what the future will bring. I wouldn`t rule out a move to the Premiership. I would be able to return no problem. The Premiership is another level but I played there for seven years. As long as I’ve got my fitness I could go back at any time.
‘But who’s to say I won’t carry on my journey of playing abroad and go somewhere else? Maybe one day I’ll even be back at Colchester?’

Would be great if he was to come back sometime!
His stock has fallen…. perhaps he will one day be back in England. It seems he might be thinking of a U’s return!
