Colchester United duo John-Joe O’Toole and Morten Knudsen look set for a 2011 return to action.

O’Toole, 21, ruptured a cruciate ligament in the knee back in March, during the 1-0 away defeat at Charlton Athletic. Meanwhile, Knudsen – who has yet to feature for the U’s first team – picked up a nasty knee problem in training.

Speaking to The Colchester Gazette, boss John Ward was more then happy with the injury comeback of the unfortunate pair.

The U’s look likely to see the pair challenging for a first team place at the back end of this year, or if not, early 2011.

‘It`s a long-term injury recovery for them both but they`re both right in line with where they should be,’, he concluded.

Great news, indeed!

O’Toole will have to work hard to get into the team if they can keep up the same form as they have so far!

Well, he wont be back until 2011 most probably so the chances of this midfield three performing as well from now to then is pretty slim! Anyway, can see a move to Coventry once he is fit!
