Teddy Sheringham will use his pulling power within the game to attract more big-name superstars to the Colchester United, starting, he hopes, with a call to former loanee and West Ham man, Hogan Ephraim.
England Under-19 starlet Ephraim, who spent much of last season at Colchester operating as a wide player, admitted that Sheringham was his idol while in Essex, sighting him as the man he looked up to most a role model when the pair trained together at Upton Park.
Following Teddy`s well-documented transfer on to Colchester Wednesday, however, and speculation that Ephraim will be limited to sparse first-team chances in the Premiership next term, Sheringham is hopeful he can help engineer an agreement that might see Ephraim back in stripes before August`s big kick-off.
During Wednesday`s media briefing, Shringham told reporters, including representatives on behalf of this website: ” I`ll be having a chat with him if he hasn`t already decided to come back.”
“He`s a great little player.”

Would love to see Ephraim back, he’s a great player. Let’s hope he comes
I agree. Teddy told me he wants him back so this new bond could be a winner!
That would be superb!
You’re welcome to him back on loan but he has a bright future so I’m not sure we (WHU) would sell him to you.
I hope Teddy can convince him otherwise. We could use him up front if not in midfield again.
Dont see why he signed on at West Ham dont think he will be in the first XI.
