The Loan Arrangers: No Manager In By D-Day!

The local media had been stirring next Monday`s transfer deadline as Colchester United`s very own D-Day. But it seems the club are content with a loan-arrangers tag.

They have confirmed that good things come to U`s who wait and say their next manager shall not be installed in a hurry simply because of an apparently pressing need for new signings.

The fact that no decision will be made until after the transfer deadline does not concern us, because the loan window opens again the following week anyway. Players will be available then if needed to add to the squad,” Chief Executive, Steve Bradshaw, told the EADT.

It is unlikely that a new manager will be announced before early September, which happily for the club also means no panic-buying, because sense says caretaker Joe Dunne cannot possibly make wholesale changes to the current squad shortly before someone else`s arrival.

The news also probably means that the reportedly homesick David Perkins will not leave north Essex, unless the U`s receive an irresistibly good offer for him between now and next week.
