Jimmy Walker who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Colchester United last season, has put pen-to-paper on a contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League giants snapped up the experienced shot-stopper yesterday, who was a free-agent, after leaving London rivals West Ham. The move will see Walker, like in his time with the Hammers, provide goalkeeping cover.

Walker, 36, played sixteen times for the U’s last season, under Paul Lambert, and it is believed the U’s were keen to sign him on a permanent deal, before eventually landing Ben Williams.

And although, I, like many other fans, was skeptical about Williams’ ability on arrival, it would be fair to say his opening month in North Essex has exitnguished any threats!

Interesting one, obviously they?re going well in the league but he?ll be on good wages. Can?t help but feel a hint of sadness that he doesn?t want to play every week, not especially for us but just in general. Ok, so when he plays, it?ll be against the top teams but still… disappointed in him and feel from my fan persective that he should have gone to somewhere like Middlesbrough.

Yeah – know what you mean. The money must be more important than football… Shame!
