Colchester United have made a new bid for defender Magnus Okuonghae.

The giant centre-half signed on at the Weston Homes Community Stadium last month after running down his contract with Dagenham and Redbridge. However, being under the age of 24, the U’s a required to pay a fee for his services.

And after failing to agree on a price so far, and with both clubs keen to avoid a tribunal, the U’s have made a fresh offer.

Speaking to The Colchester Gazette, chairman Robbie Cowling said: ‘We`re still in talks with Dagenham and we`re trying to resolve it.’

Cowling, who also confirmed the U’s are still looking to bring new faces in, added: ‘We have made them a revised offer which we have sent them and we`re now awaiting their response.’

So what do you think Okuonghae is worth?

I wonder how much we’ve offered both times – cant imagine it being much…

not sure how this all works, if we dont agree a fee can we still play him?

  • StevieG Col U says:

Well from what I think – he could join anyone side he wanted as he was out of contract, even though we were reportedly offering Dagenham a lot less than other clubs were. And he is now our player, and we’ll try to agree a fee but if not a tribunal will decide I believe.
