THE U’S are away at MK Dons this afternoon, looking to become the first side of the season to score against Paul Ince`s side.

Colchester take their unbeaten record to a side yet to lose themselves – there`s a feeling that something has to give!

The club have new caretaker, Joe Dunne, in charge during the interim until further notice, along with stand-in skipper, Pat Baldwin.

If the U`s win, it will be the first time in their history that the club takes maximum points from the starting four matches.

Vital Quotes:

Gillingham Game ‘So Pleasing` – Bradshaw:-

Steve Bradshaw, club Chief Executive, in reaction to Tuesday’s game win under difficult circumstances: “The irony of it all, one of the nicest things as well, is that Paul Lambert almost said it was about the fans and the players before he left.

“To see the players work so hard and then how happy they were was brilliant.

And then to go over to the fans at the end of the game and share it with them, after how supportive and noisy they`d been, was just so pleasing.

MK Dons Team News:

The Dons are without six players for this game, and will use Danny Woodards as an emergency centre-half.

Former U’s loan players, Lewis Gobern and Jermaine Easter should be involved.

Player to watch: Jermaine Easter

Will the curse of the ex-player stirke? On-form Easter turned down the chance to stay with Colchester full-time last season after playing for the club on loan.

Colchester United Team News:

The U’s are without ex-Don Clive Platt, who finishes a suspension.

Striker Steven Gillespie and defender Paul Reid are the only long-term injuries.

Player to watch: Kevin Lisbie

Always looking sharp; Lisbie as three goals in as many league games so far this season and will need to be on-form again if the U’s expect to make history and win today.
