Colchester United have successfully won their appeal against the dismissal of Phil Ifil in the U’s 3-1 defeat to Hull City at Layer Road.
The decision means that Ifil is able to play in Saturday’s East Anglian derby clash, against Norwich, at Carrow Road.
‘We are delighted that this decision has been corrected,’ Williams told CU-FC.com.
‘I was disappointed on the night because various people had a lot of comments to make on the incident without having seen it again closely.
He added: ‘Getting the decision overturned won’t have helped us on the night, but I am pleased that common sense has prevailed.’
