JIMMY WALKER has not ruled out returning to Colchester United next season.
The 35-year-old stopper enjoyed a 12-week loan spell at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, from November to February this season. And being without a first-team look-in at Premier League side West Ham United, Walker looks set to cut his ties at Upton Park.
Walker told The Colchester Gazette: ‘I would definitely not rule out a move to Colchester.’
However, a number of other sides are also thought to be interested in recruiting the veteran ‘keeper.
‘I have to weigh everything up. But if I went to Colchester and was playing every week, I`d be happy. Paul Lambert was great with me and I think he will be a top manager,’ he added.
Just last week U’s boss Paul Lambert revealed he would attempt to bring Walker back to North Essex and Walker’s willingness could well see a deal happen.
Lambert, who is expected to make a number of changes in personnel this summer, said: ‘There will be contact throughout the summer, but Jimmy may want to go somewhere bigger.
‘He did absolutely brilliantly here but I don`t know what his aspirations are, at this moment in time.’
With an exciting couple of months ahead on the transfer front, Vital Colchester is the place to keep bang up-to-date.
So would you like to see Walker return? Or are you happy with the U’s goalkeeping roaster at present?

Well,, IMO Gerken is just as good, don’t think a new ‘keeper is a priority.
