Paul Lambert, currently the most-hated man among Colchester United fans, has become an instant hit with his new side.
The Scotsman, just like another in George Burley, forced a move away from North Essex last week in favour of a ‘bigger’ club.
He saw his new Norwich City team ease past another of his former employers, Wycombe Wanderers, who he controversially walked out on in 2008, in a 5-2 win. Good – but it’s no 7-1!
Meanwhile, ex-U’s midfield man Johnnie Jackson, who will always be cherished among the U’s faithful, netted a goal on his debut for new club Notts County.

VITAL COLCHESTER; YOUR VOICE, YOUR CHOICE!
VITAL COLCHESTER IS 100% UNOFFICIAL – FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS!
Very funny, Steve! Good but no 7-1! Love it! Who says Vital Colchester has no bite?!
lol – Yeah, just though it would be a bit of fun! Up the U’s!
Are you Burley is disguise!!? lol
Well, he might well be!! That was a serious point that has been made in may places and by many people! Other than that, we might as well sit back and see what happens. Can’t say I wish him any luck whatsoever!!
If Norwich get relegated or miss out on promotion due to the goals conceded in the 7-1 loss – I’ll Laugh!
If Norwich get relegated or miss out on promotion due to the goals conceded in the 7-1 loss, Lambert will either be pushed or walk.
