Colchester United will sign latest trialist Ian Henderson by the end of next week, according to BBC Radio Essex.

Aidy Boothroyd told the station he is awaiting clearance from the Turkish F.A. over a probable move for the former Norwich attacker, who emerged as a surprise target during Saturday`s round of F.A. Cup games.

The 24-year-old, touted in earlier speculation on this site as a possible replacement for the departed Kevin Lisbie, has been training with the side and boss Boothroyd called him a “tigerish little so-and-so.

Henderson, who traveled with the squad to Preston, for a game that ended in a record Cup loss for Colchester, was previously contracted to Ankaragucu.

The current free agent plays either as a right-winger or froward.

Interesting… Is he definatly still under contract with the Turkish side, I thought he’d left? He could be the new Chris Iwelumo – coming from abroad, poor scoring record…

Has been changed, thanks for that Steve! Well anyway, we’ll wait and see!
